HUMILITY

Humility is something we all cherish and admire in the lives of others. It is the opposite of pride. Humility is the quality of not assuming one’s rank, position or importance. It is a choice we can make. Humility is cheap, yet honourable and not humiliating. It is a befitting choice for all.

Humility in aHUMILITY workplace has shown that it offers a significant competitive advantage to leaders.

Researchers found that employees who rated their managers as humble reported feeling more engaged and less likely to quit. They also reported being more committed to a leader’s vision, and more trusting and receptive to their ideas.

One of the many benefits of humility is that it improves your interactions with others. People enjoy being around those who are considerate and who think about others and not just themselves.  Doing this takes humility and esteeming others more important than one’s self.

On the other hand, people seldom feel comfortable around those who are so proud and self-centered that they often brag about how they can do things better than others. It’s difficult to be around someone who can’t lose gracefully or finds it hard to admit that he doesn’t know everything.
